Fargana Abdulla - An Artist from Baku
As an artist from Baku, my musical journey has been shaped by both personal and societal struggles, and while my soul defies any single genre, I feel closest to alternative music. I began creating music five years ago, initially channeling my frustration with the world’s issues—feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, and political repression—into my lyrics. Over time, I turned inward, exploring my inner world while still remaining responsive to the world around me, striving for a balance between introspection and activism. My songs have been in Azerbaijani, but now, as I step into creating English music and building a network in San Diego, USA, I’m navigating new challenges. I’m absorbing new sounds and influences as I find my path in this new landscape. Music is a bridge for me, and one of my proudest moments is hearing how my words and melodies resonate deeply with listeners, reminding me of the shared humanity in every note.
