The Journey of Liam Hayes
I wasn’t born into a musical family, but music was always my escape. Growing up in a small town in Texas, I taught myself to play an old keyboard my neighbor was throwing away. The keys stuck, and some didn’t even work, but it was enough to spark a dream.
After high school, I moved to Austin with nothing but my keyboard and a duffel bag. I played on street corners, in coffee shops, and at tiny gigs where no one really listened. I slept on couches and ate whatever I could afford, but every moment I spent playing felt worth it.
One night, during a nearly empty show at a local bar, a producer wandered in by chance. He liked my sound and asked if I had original songs. I played him one I’d written on that broken keyboard years ago. That moment changed my life.
Fast forward a few years, and my music is finally out there. I’ve got albums, a fanbase, and I’m touring places I used to only dream about. But no matter where I go, I keep that old keyboard with me. It’s my reminder that every note, no matter how small, can lead to something bigger.
